In the spirit of giving during the Holy month of Ramadhan, The Summit Hotels & Resorts properties has organized a few events of Buka Puasa with some orphanage houses.
Summit Hotel Bukit Mertajam
16th August 2010 It is the yearly commitment of The Summit Hotel Bukit Mertajam to have a program for children as part of the annual event in our Ramadan month. We invite kids from orphanage houses to join and gather to celebrate the fasting feast month for the Muslim people.



Charity Berbuka Puasa with Rumah Kanak-Kanak Taman Bakti, Kepala Batas (16th August 2010)
In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, Summit Hotel Bukit Mertajam takes this special occasion to host a charity and community event for the under-privileged. Held on Monday, 16 August 2010 at Aquarius Hall, 40 children aged 2 to 17 years old of Rumah Kanak-Kanak Taman Bakti were treated with a delicious Buka Puasa Buffet of traditional dishes. Apart from treating the children to a sumptuous dinner, each child was presented with duit raya and stationeries. The hotel also contributed sundry goods to the home.

Chinese New Year Charity Visit (23rd February 2010)
To embrace the spirit of sharing and caring, on 23rd February 2010, staff from various departments of Summit Hotel Bukit Mertajam visited the Orphanage House at Taman Tenang to celebrate Chinese New Year with them. 50 children of the home enjoyed games and refreshment brought by the hotel. Each child was given an angpow and the home also received sundry goods contributed by the hotel.

24th August '09 - Rumah Anak Yatim Bakti, Kepala Batas children had an enjoyable time at the Buka Puasa treat on that night. About 60 children and guardian attended the event and they were served by the caring Hotel Directors, heads of departments and staff. They were also taken for an inspection to the hotel rooms, other hotel facilities and kitchen area, this is to create interest to children on how is the hotel day to day operation and hopefully they are inspired to work in the hotel industry. The hotel presented children with 'Duit Raya' & stationeries each and some sundry goods for the house as well as an appetizing dinner for all.
